The Corton quarry is located in the commune of Ladoix-Serigny in the Côte d’Or region between Beaune and Dijon. Instantly recognisable for its pink-tinged beige colour lined with dark purple veins, this beautiful, authentic stone is steeped in history. Structures built in this stone include the Palace of the Dukes of Burgundy in Dijon, and the famous Hospices de Beaune.
Corton stone, highly prized for restoring ancient houses, is the Burgundy stone par excellence: a compact, hard stone, its beautiful patina gives it the authentic appearance of old Burgundy flagstones.
Its low porosity and colours make it very easy to maintain.
